The OCA 5 consists of the basic instrument with the following technical equipment:

  • Dosing bay for installation of manual syringe units (max. 4) and the single or multiple (max. 4) needle support with a vertical and horizontal fine adjustment, alternative a direct dosing unit with a manual syringe unit
  • Measuring stage, adjustable in three axis for accurate sample positioning
  • Lens mount with adjustable tilt
  • High-performance six-fold power zoom lens with an integrated continuous fine focus
  • Goniometer eyepiece with diopter adjustment
  • Halogen lighting with continuously adjustable intensity without hysteretses for a homogeneous back lighting
  • Power supply with automatic voltage adjustment

The 32-bit "Windows NT based" software SCA 10 developed for Windows 2000/XP offers:

  The calculation of the surface free energy of solids and their components out  
  of the measuredcontact angles with up to four different test liquids  

The analyses according to different methods (Zisman, OWRK, Fokes, FOCG, Wu, Schulz, etc.) were build-in the software.
